NEW TO SECOND LIFE?
Come join this workshop even if you are not so new to Second Life and a bit rusty.
To download and install Second Life, please go to Secondlife.com, select your language and click on 'JOIN' and select an avatar. Then download the software and install it. Next start the software and add your log-in data. You will no longer need to go to the website of secondlife.com, the way to get into SL is by means of the software. For system requirements, please click HERE.
If you join SL for the first time, make sure to NOT skip the 20min tutorial provided by LindenLab as soon as you arrive. There are some 6 important skills to be learned, which includes communication, flying, sitting, camera control etc., very nicely explained and vital.They are fun to do and highly recommended.
After having gone through the welcome tutorial, you can click on the following SLURL to teleport to get to EduNation sandbox or IM Gwen Gwasi for support.

Bio Karina Silva
Karina Silva holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics and Technology with a minor in Curriculum and Instructional Technology from Iowa State University, and an MA in Applied Linguistics from Ohio University. She has taught English as a Foreign Language classes in Brazil and first-year composition and English as a Second Language classes at ISU. She has presented at several conferences in Brazil and in the United States and has published papers in academic journals, such as TESL-EJ and Journal of Digital Learning and Teacher Education. Her research focuses on the preparation of language teachers to teach in virtual worlds such as Second Life.
