Event Description

Second Life's largest educational conference, the VWBPE conference has started.

A stunning 54h program on 5 sims with about 300 sessions fabulously organized and mindblowing high level of expertise.

I had the privilege to be part of the opening plenary with some 200 avatars present in a steampunk designed huge and very unique auditorium. What an experience.

At the Virtual World Education Round Table discussion which followed the opening plenary the host asked the audience to type in the text chat their personal infos and there were so many from Universities around the world. Amazing really.

We are conducting an AVALON presentation and panel at 1pm GMT | 6am SL time today, Fri and a tour lateron.

Check out the program

and watch the live stream of some of the sessions at

These also include practicioners who have been introducing their language learners to role-playing sims and their active and sociable communities. It was very interesting - thanks Gwen.  Unfortunately my browser quit right at the end.  Sigh - That's SL.

It was so late...  I went to bed.  Wuss I know.

I can recommend the Sandbox area, there are some great tutorials where you can have a go at buidling SteamPunk stuff - I built a dance ball and it rotates!  :)

I got booted out 6 times and struggled really hard to go in. But I persevered and it was so interesting.

Tried to attend the keynote speech - got booted out (more than once) and I wasn't even drunk!   I am persistent - so I'll try again.
