That's good news Gwen.  I think I need this particular skill rather quickly.  :)

Ref yesterdays problems:  It might have been to do with the SLCC 2011 too.  It was very busy, and there were quite a few problems on the sim where I was with streaming etc. (Of course that could also have been down to me not really knowing what I'm doing.) LOL  For example - does anyone know how you "kick" someone off a sim without banning them?  Or do you ban and then unban them?  Sigh.  I thought I was just going to be helping newbies log in using Advanced mode, not fixing streaming video etc.

BTW - The key not speech by Mr Linden was v. interesting.  And if anyone is into photography there is a great presentation (ignore the glitches at the beginning) here:

Poor Mary!  But yes, your slides are fantastic!

Hi Lynne,

The earlier session is still going to take place as planned at 12:30pm GMT | 5:30am SL time and has also been posted on the Webhead's learning2gether site by Vance, so we are expecting a few webheads to turn up.

Poor Mary went through an agonizing PC shut down, which even didn't want to reboot but eventually did. I met her on EduNation a while after the session.

BTW, the reason for this technical hick-up was because Mary was early inworld and relogged 3 times to get her voice working and she tried for about 30min. That is when we recommended to use Firestorm as an alternative browser and I can warmly recommend Firestorm (Version 2 of Phoenix) because it works ever so well for people who do not have fast internet like myself.

It is good to have an alternative in anycase although viewer hopping is not so recommended.

I keep Second Life Viewer 2 updated and in my back sleeve (have even tried the new Mesh visible version of Viewer2 and am impressed by Mesh!).

As I said it is good to have both there.

I might not make it at 12pm btw (some RL fun with kids) and hope someone could screenshare and record. Any volunteers?

rgds Heike

Hi Maria

I am hoping to be at the earlier session.  Is it still running?

Hi Mary,

it was a pity about yesterday. I wonder if the session that was organised for 12:30 p.m. GMT / 5:30 a.am SLT / Vzla 8:00 a.m. is still happening anyway. I have already moved a family dinner from last night to tonight and can't be there at 6pm (8pm my time). Are you going to hold both sessions?

Would you have surgery to improve your pronunciation?  Eek!

So sorry Mary for the issues you had with Viewer2, your installation is fabulolus and Karelia managed without you thanks to your great instructions. I totally lost it after 2 trials then disruptive Gwen decided to show off and rezz her soccer ground on the playground. When the cat's away, mice are gray!!!

I won't be able to make it at 6pm (6am for me) unfortunately. I would strongly encourage anyone interested in building to join, you will have fun!!!

Hi All,

Due to tech problems today, there will be a repeat session of "Creating learning Scenarii using Builder´s Buddy Scripts". Time?  SLT 11:00 a.m. / GMT 6:00 p.m.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

I'm probably be available to do the guesstionary game on Weds 17th August - could demo alongside the score cards I've bought today and the pictionary game + magic board passed to me by Yomi, a keen member of Cypris Chat who I hope will be joining us (- she gave me the games and led them in the Cypris Chat group)

Pawel,

My understanding is that First Response is generally inaccessible at the moment for security reasons and we who were lucky enough to visit were  given special, one-off  access.  Dennis
