Indeed. Hopefully we will see each other soon, if only virtually. Though that depends if I can get my profile sorted out. At the moment I am just a ball of smoke...

That would be just perfect. You can also mention the amount of FL teaching that is taking place in SL at the moment.

Thanks a lot for accepting, Graham. Watching your presentation from the Avalon Island will be a priceless experience for our students (I guess most of them have never been on SL). The focus of the Rountable will be on how they can incorporate technology to their teaching and a taste of SL will give them an idea of how far they can go. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it to BRAZ-TESOL, but we can talk about the meeting by email or here, if you prefer.

Hi, Graham,
I am a Professor at Universidade Federal Fluminense in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro. At the moment, our Lato Sensu Postgraduation Program is organizing a Symposium, which will take place from 13 to 16 September 2010. I am organizing a Roundtable on Technology in FL Teaching aimed at the students taking our Applied Linguistics (English as a FL Teaching) course. The roundtable will take place on September 14 (TUE) at 2:00 pm in Rio - 7:00 pm in Barcelona. We would be honored if you could participate in this roundtable via Skype, Second Life or any other video conferencing tool you might suggest.
Looking forward to your answer,

Hi Graham,
This is a slightly revised version of the one I sent you via SL:
I'm a librarian at the University of Manchester and I'm researching foreign language learning in SL and its implications for resource provision in academic libraries. I am doing this work as an Arcadia Fellow at Cambridge University Library. I would like to interview people who are actively involved in foreign language learning in SL (both students and teachers) and, preferably, who also have experience of using academic libraries as part of their foreign language learning. However, I would still like to hear from you even if you only fit into one of these two target groups. I imagine the interview won't be longer than approx. 30 min. I would be very grateful if you would be willing to participate. The interviews will take place in SL (or via Skype) over the next 3 weeks (until early June). Please send me a message and we can arrange a convenient date and time. You are very welcome to pass this message on to relevant colleagues. Many thanks!
