Sexual harassment in SL
Hi everyone,
I would like throw this question out to you.
Several of my professional contacts/adult students (male and female) have reported being sexually harassessed within 3 to 5 mins of first entering the second life main grid. Their reactions have varied from embarassed to feeling upset and annoyed. It is my feeling that, had they not had a professional reason to return (a langauge course) or a "safe" place to go, i.e. Avalon Island or Kamimo, the experience would have been enough to put… Continue

I'm a librarian at the University of Manchester and I'm researching foreign language learning in SL and its implications for resource provision in academic libraries. I am doing this work as an Arcadia Fellow at Cambridge University Library. I would like to interview people who are actively involved in foreign language learning in SL (both students and teachers) and, preferably, who also have experience of using academic libraries as part of their foreign language learning. However, I would still like to hear from you even if you only fit into one of these two target groups. I imagine the interview won't be longer than approx. 30 min. I would be very grateful if you would be willing to participate. The interviews will take place in SL (or via Skype) over the next 3 weeks (until early June).
