Interesting video on new developments in Second Life

Just watching an interesting interview between Robert Scoble and Mark Kingdon of Linden Labs about the new SL browser. Although the hype around SL has quietened down considerably, SL has been very busy and it is interesting hearing some of the statistics. The new browser looks like it's going to make SL a lot more accessible in the future - less of a learning curve for newbies which is a good thing for language learners who may be afraid of launching into learning in a virtual world.Worth a…See More

Hi Simon,
I'm a librarian at the University of Manchester and I'm researching foreign language learning in SL and its implications for resource provision in academic libraries. I am doing this work as an Arcadia Fellow at Cambridge University Library. I would like to interview people who are actively involved in foreign language learning in SL (both students and teachers) and, preferably, who also have experience of using academic libraries as part of their foreign language learning. However, I would still like to hear from you even if you only fit into one of these two target groups. I imagine the interview won't be longer than approx. 30 min. I would be very grateful if you would be willing to participate. The interviews will take place in SL (or via Skype) over the next 3 weeks (until early June). Please send me a message and we can arrange a convenient date and time. You are very welcome to pass this message on to relevant colleagues. Many thanks!
Stefanie.

Hey Simon, Were you studying French at Vic and when? Yes let's meet in world if you want remember we have 10 hours difference. I can connect from work (with sound) or home.
I am not doing anything special on SL yet - I am only 5 month old, but I am very interested in hearing what language instructors do with it..
Let me know when can/want to meet! Were you at the Slanguages conference?
