3D virtual environments truly provide fascinating opportunities for experiential (Kolb) and situated learning (Wenger & Lave) through immersive simulations. These approaches are notably pertinent within a communicative pedagogical framework. These environments support three essential pillars for second language acquisition: immersion (location), interaction (objects and people) and socialisation (communities of practice, interest groups etc.)

Arcachon Atlantique truly represents a real life resort located in the South West of France, the high level of details with which the environment was built originally give opportunities for cultural awareness in authentic situations.

Come and join us for an exciting tour in the South-West of France and hear about the current development of the Virtual Institute of French's language and teacher training  programmes in French FL.
