Bio - Prof. Dr. Urte Undine Frömming [Augenblick Winkler]

Prof Undine is the deputy head of the Institute for Social and Cultural Anthropology, the head of the Master's Program in Visual and Media Anthropology at Freie Universitaet Berlin, Germany with a focus on E-learning in 3D environments. She received her MA in Social Anthropology in 1999 and her Ph.D (Dr. phil.) in 2005 from the Institute for Social and Cultural Anthropology at the Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. Besides her interest in Visual and Media Anthropology, she specializes in Virtual Cutlures Research and E-learning. She has completed several visual anthropological fieldwork studies in Eastern Indonesia, in East-Africa (Tanzania) and in Iceland. She is a member of the work group "Visual Anthropology" at the German Anthropological Association (DGV), Chairperson of KatNet (Network of Disaster research) and member of the European Forum for the Study of Religion and the Environment.
