Hey Nergiz, great to see you here, too! To be honest, I don't have a solid idea yet, but I'm thinking about something like "interculturality" in language education or the status of World Englishes in virtual networks. I still have another year of courses ahead of me, so I'm kinda taking my time :D Cheers!
Hi Nergiz - just a quick note to let you know that the link to your blog on the AVALON Moodle home page, in the right-hand column, shows me a Snipurl error - for some reason. I also get a 404 Not Found error with the Educational Uses of SL link, in the same column.
Everything else works just fine - I just thought I'd let you know :)
This is a slightly revised version of the one I sent to you via SL:
I'm a librarian at the University of Manchester and I'm researching foreign language learning in SL and its implications for resource provision in academic libraries. I am doing this work as an Arcadia Fellow at Cambridge University Library. I would like to interview people who are actively involved in foreign language learning in SL (both students and teachers) and, preferably, who also have experience of using academic libraries as part of their foreign language learning. However, I would still like to hear from you even if you only fit into one of these two target groups. I imagine the interview won't be longer than approx. 30 min. I would be very grateful if you would be willing to participate. The interviews will take place in SL (or via Skype) over the next 3 weeks (until early June). Please send me a message and we can arrange a convenient date and time. You are very welcome to pass this message on to relevant colleagues. Many thanks!
Over 20 years ago I was a member of this SIG when it was called MUESLI (Microcomputer Users in ESL Institutions) and when I used to teach advanced learners of English in higher education. I stopped teaching English around 15 years ago. Primarily, I was a teacher of German for over 25 years. I still belong to EUROCALL.
