Hi Gary,
Thanks for your Welcome. I am more interested in Second Life than in Second Language. ;-) I am using SL in my Masters and I am trying to learn a little bit more about SL in Education.
But I am going to explore this Community and hope to be able to contribute.
Greeting from Portugal

I don't know anything really, about Second Life and am interested in learning a little about it as far as educational topics are concerned. I see it mentioned on Twitter quite a bit. I will add a photo soon. Thanks.

Hi, Gary,

Of course. Yesterday, I was in the Goethe Institut. One of participants gave me a link to your site and told me that there was an Italian course. I would like to learn Italian because I am interested in such authors as Robortello (e.g. Robortello's student left interesting notes on his lectures about Cicero's "Topica".) Generally, I am interested in linguistics :) .

Kind regards,

Hello Gary.
Thanks for your message. I did not receive the e-mail you sent on Friday. Can you please send it again?
I also sent you an e-mail this morning. I hope you received it.
I did add my picture. But I first added it in the wrong place, I guess it ended up in the photos' repository or something. Can you please delete it? Then I managed to correclty add my picture to my profile :-)

Hi! Thank you for your warm welcome. I'm an offline teacher and I am doing the Lancelot course right now. That is how I got in touch with the interesting world of virtual teaching. Within every day I am discovering something new and I am fascinated by all possible alternative ways of teaching. My intention here is to observe and learn, to meet the most experienced people and learn from their experiences, to observe SL with all its potentials and learn how to use them. I am a student in this virtual world, not a teacher, but I hope, after a proper full immersion in SL to be able myself to do something good with this kind of virtual teaching, because as all teachers do, I love my profession and I want to go on improving it. Virtual teaching is the future of education. So, it is a must for all teachers.

Hi Gary,
This is a slightly revised version of the one I sent you via SL:
I'm a librarian at the University of Manchester and I'm researching foreign language learning in SL and its implications for resource provision in academic libraries. I am doing this work as an Arcadia Fellow at Cambridge University Library. I would like to interview people who are actively involved in foreign language learning in SL (both students and teachers) and, preferably, who also have experience of using academic libraries as part of their foreign language learning. However, I would still like to hear from you even if you only fit into one of these two target groups. I imagine the interview won't be longer than approx. 30 min. I would be very grateful if you would be willing to participate. The interviews will take place in SL (or via Skype) over the next 3 weeks (until early June). Please send me a message and we can arrange a convenient date and time. You are very welcome to pass this message on to relevant colleagues. Many thanks!

Well Gary my links are manifold I guess if not fully honed.
I have had apple contact with Heike concerning the banging of heads for ideas. MY team trans-lingo.com (Lehrer, Dolmetscher, Übersetzer Tunnicliff & Partner) is an explotive partner of the project.
At present my ventures into AVALON have been unfortunately limited due to serious op, founded my company and a local elta.
But hope this changes soon.
