Welcome to all our new members from Australia

Hi All

Welcome to all those who have recently joined us from Australia, I guess that this may be related Luisa Panichi's recent broadcast on Australian radio about 2nd Life and our project. Can people tell us if that's the case?

If you are teachers, you may want to join our teachers group.

Dear Australian members,

It is great to hear that my interview with Antony Funnell has had such an impact and that so many people have joined our ning. Please invite your colleagues and spread the news in your institutions too ;-)

Hi Kim, welcome to AVALON.

Our teachers' group is here: http://avalon-project.ning.com/group/slexperimentsteachersgroup

We meet in SL twice a month and we have a wiki where we collect resources for teaching languages in SL/virtual worlds. At the moment, the wiki is being revamped but you can see or join it here: http://slexperiments.pbworks.com

Hi Kim, nice to hear from you and your positive words about our project. I'm glad Luisa's talk was inspiring, I'm sure she'll be glad to hear that :-)

There are a number of sub-groups that you can join, if you wish and one of them is our active teachers group.

Hi Gary,

Not sure if others have responded to this as yet, but yes, (I am an aussie) and I heard about your great work through the fantastic Australian interview by Luisa on the ABC.

I have had a particular interest in VWs for some time so my radar was immediately alerted, but I thought the interview was fabulous BTW, so congratulations to Luisa.

I have made contact with Luisa and she has generously offered direct support and connections to your established teaching space and resources on Avalon island, which is tremendous. I think these opportunities are profound and paradigm shifting, and have huge competitive implications for teaching students at the global level.

I am not sure if I have actually joined your teachers group ( I am a lecturer), sorry (sounding a bit hopeless there) ... but is that a separate process to joining Avalon??

Sounds like you have achieved some great work here. Congratulations!

All the best,
